Helium Mobile subscribers are seamlessly connected to Helium Mobile Hotspots anytime they are within range of one, and can support network development through Discovery Mapping – a process of sharing anonymized location data as subscribers move through the world to inform where Hotspots can have the greatest impact. Subscribers who participate in this mapping are rewarded with crypto tokens for anonymously sharing the data that helps inform how to improve network connectivity.

One of the things that I think is most exciting for me, personally, about being on the Helium Network is not just the fact that we’re democratizing the wireless network space, but that the more people that get on this and the more people that use it, the more our costs go down.
In addition to that, the better the coverage, the greater the dependability of the service gets. And I think that's something that's really cool that's never been tackled — at least within this industry.
Since switching to Helium, not only have our costs gone down, and our service levels gone up, but one other element that has positively impacted us is that we had an unexpected car repair that had to be done — we had to do a lot of suspension work, and that came completely out of nowhere. So a $2500 cost at the time was a little bit overwhelming. What better way to pay for the cost than to pull out of the rewards we’d earned through Discovery Mapping, and be able to repair our entire suspension — without pulling a single penny out of pocket.
That’s something no other network provider has been able to do for us, and that’s one of the most exciting parts about how we’ve been able to leverage Helium to our advantage, for a service that we use every single day and need every day.
My wife and I initially had switched over because we weren’t too happy with the kind of service we were getting, especially with the money that we were spending on our cell service.
